On December 08, 1936 Thurgood Marshall and The NAACP wins its case, Gibbs v. Board of Education, in Montgomery County against the state of Maryland, ensuring that white and black teachers are paid equally. It was the first of a succession of suits that eliminated wage differentials between black and white teachers.
