29 January 2002 In a direct defiance to South Africa's patent laws, Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian organization, begins importing a cheap, generic version of patented Aids drugs into South Africa.
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) works in nearly 70 countries providing medical aid to those most in need regardless of their race, religion, or political affiliation. These doctors and nurses volunteers provide urgent medical care in numerous countries to victims of war and disaster.
