Here are some facts of an eventful 9-11 thru ought history.

It was on this day September 11, 1974 that H.I.M. Emperor Haile Sellassie 1st trod from the Ethiopian throne.

On September 11, Biko was found naked and shackled several miles away, in Pretoria, South Africa. He died the following day, on September 12, 1977, from a brain hemorrhage—later determined to be the result of injuries he had sustained while in police custody.

Friday September 11, 1987 Peter Tosh Transition. Peter Tosh, a founding member of the Wailers, a reggae group that helped to popularize the vibrant Jamaican music style internationally, at his home Friday night, the police said. Mr. Tosh was 42 years old. The police said Mr. Tosh and Wilton (Doc) Brown, a maker of health food, transitioned from their wounds en route to a hospital. Five others, including Mr. Tosh's companion, Andrea Marlene Brown, were wounded.



September 11, 2001: Two hijacked aircraft crash into the World Trade Center in New York City, while a third smashes into The Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, in a series of coordinated suicide attacks. A fourth hijacked airliner crashes in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Altogether, 2,996 people are killed.
